Best Practices on Set

When on set, you need to make sure that everyone is ready for what is going to happen when you're going to say cut. All the actors and crew needs to be in place, everyone needs to make sure to be quiet, and the sound department has to be recording the sound. If none of this is followed then someone might interrupt the shot by walking through it, or making a lot of noise and it can be heard in the shot. The shot can also be ruined if the sound department wasn't rolling and there was no sound for the take.
